Ivy League universities and top majors

The Ivy League is an association of top American universities. Informally, the concept of the Ivy League arose in the early 20th century in honor of the ivy that covered the walls of universities, as well as the annual tradition of students to "plant" ivy. The very first official merger of these educational institutions took place in 1954 in connection with the development of sports - the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) included universities in the first division. Subsequently, the universities of the League began to be considered highly competitive not only in sports, but also in other aspects.

Ivy League universities have long secured places in the top of the world and national rankings. The competition for admission is one of the highest in the world: only 5-10% of all applicants become students. But those who still become students receive a lot of benefits, including:

  1. high quality education, ensured by attracting the best professors and allocating unlimited budgets for infrastructure development.
  2. the opportunity to participate in projects of intra- and inter-university organizations together with graduates, professors and employees of major companies.
  3. demand after graduation: 84% on average.

The Ivy League includes: Harvard University, Princeton University, Cornell University, Yale University, Columbia University, University of Pennsylvania, Brown University, Dartmouth College. All universities are located in the northeastern United States.
